Chain overhead cranes use two chain chains in their connections. The hand chain of the crane is made of galvanized iron and the load chain of the crane is made of dry steel. While the manual chain of the overhead crane is moved by hand, the load chain of the crane is connected to the load and is subjected to high tensile stress. Different sizes of crane chains are used according to the tonnage and weight capacity of the overhead crane, which is often used on 1 ton cranes with 8 mm chain and as the tonnage of the crane increases, the size of the crane chain also increases. Of course, in high-tonnage overhead cranes, a chain is no longer used, and therefore, in most applications, the maximum size of the crane chain is 12 mm.
