Excavating wire rope is often used as 6 strands on drilling rigs. Drilling towing wire is produced from size 8 mm and above and is used both as hemp core and as steel core. Hemp core drilling wire has lower tensile strength but higher flexibility than steel cores and is used with FC extension, i.e. 6X19+FC complete structure.
