The 6 mm iron hex screw is produced both as a full gear according to the DIN933 standard and as a half gear according to the DIN931 standard. The 6 mm iron hex screw is made of low carbon and soft iron and is malleable. Therefore, iron screws are produced only with coarse threads. Grades 4.8 with tensile less than 400 newtons/mm2 and grade 5.6 with tensile less than 500 newtons/mm2 are the most widely used in the production of 6 mm full gear iron hex screws. Due to the low tensile strength, 6 mm iron screws are often used in industrial joints with low tensile stresses. This all-gear hexagon screw is sometimes engaged in the work piece and in most cases, it is connected with a simple DIN934 standard hexagon nut.
