Different methods are used in order to increase the abrasion resistance of non-rotating wire rope, and production using the COMPACT method is one of these methods. In compact non-rotating wire rope, the shape of the profile of the towing wire is not round, but in the outermost layer, it is seen as flat. The technology used in the production of compact non-rotating wire rope is higher than simple examples and therefore the price of compact non-rotating wire rope is also higher than normal examples. The flat profile of compact towing wire creates more contact surface and increases its wear resistance.
